If there was a ghost writer involved, you don't see it. Reads like Britney. An authentic and unapologetic memoir that doesn't gloss over anyone, not even herself. Heartbreakingly real! & Michelle Williams is perfect in that after a point you don't even hear her anymore - what you hear is Britney.1 person found this helpful

I can totally understand why Britney couldn't narrate this audiobook, would have been too emotional! You can also here the emotion in Michelle William's voice while narrating, which she did a great job of. There were several instances where I cried & not because I'm an actual fan; I listen to Rock, Blues & others....but I have always admired Britney's musical talent & her dance performances. Her experience was like a story you see in a horror movie, Being told she'll be taken to court if she doesn't obey, or punishing her by keeping her away from her sons, who she clearly adores! She was betrayed so many times with the paparazzi & media manipulating every detail. I could never comprehend how paparazzi are allowed to stalk & violate every privacy rule, in such an invasive way! Do celebrities have to pay that price just because they entertain us with movies & music!? same as the questions some of the talk show hosts used to ask Britney! appaling. She was clearly always an easy target because of her sweet & kind nature. Near the end she mentions her posts on Instagram, which I haven't seen, but it seems sad that she's trying to get outside approval that way, after being controlled all her life! This book is Britney's journey from a sweet kid full of dreams & talent, to fame, manipulation, betrayal, pain, 'imprisonment', faith & strength to stand back on her own 2 feet, & save her 'little heart' as she describes it! I hope she will eventually get through and really be at peace..... - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Thank you for sharing your story and your life with us Britany. It was truly heartbreaking. While listening to your story I just wanted to give you the biggest hug as I am sure all your readers wanted to do the same. How cruel. How can someone have so much power and control over your life. And who is supposed to love you unconditionally feel that this is ok. I am so sorry for what you have endured. You are a strong woman Britney. And I am so glad I had the opportunity to listen to your story. Thank you - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

4.5 stars ? "I get to eat chocolate again."
This book brought tears to my eyes. Britney Spears is one of the most resilient people ever. So many people failed her. The whole world owes her an apology. I hope for nothing but the best for her.
The writing was a little difficult to get into in the very beginning but once you get into it, you get immersed. This was so heartbreaking and made me shed tears a couple of times. Her family is truly truly vile. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I know I have put 5 stars but I honestly do not think biographies should be rated because we are listening to someone's life and that can never be rated.
Listening to this story of Britney Spears was upsetting hearing all she has gone through since she was a child till now, ? ? ? ?... I never would have thought for one moment that her life was like that but why would I or anyone?!!
All we know of fandom most of us is how fabulous it looks and how much money you must have etc etc, but hearing the other side of what so many mistake as greener pastors is eye-opening.
So glad Britney can be free and find herself

I did not enjoy this book. It reads like list of her accomplishments and grievances, she is the victim in all situations, and everyone around her is bad and out to get her! - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5

I was a big Britney Spears fan when I was a teen and I was hoping this book would clear things up and be honest. However, it only tries to picture Britney as a victim and that everywhere she went people were just out to get her. When you are always the victim in every situation, maybe you are the problem and should work on it. She had enough money to get the right advise and right people around her to have prevented at least half of the crap where she just pretends to be a victim. I do feel pitty for her that her parents weren't there for her to support her when things went wrong. Somewhere along the way one should at least be able to be honest with one self and of you write a memoir for your 'beloved fans' at least be honest with them also.
